Home.

Home. 20,054kms. Full circle. Wow.  Time for some sleep.

I'm certain it will be quite the transition being back home and getting into normal 'Life-stuffs', especially after a journey of this magnitude. I plan to approach it like I did this adventure, slowly and one step at a time.

Stay tuned for a couple more posts in the next short while.  I'll include my last week of travel, some final thoughts, photos, and maybe even a gear review and rough cost breakdown of the trip.

I was inspired through other ADV motorcycle riders, reading through their forums and blogs, and I hope that I too can inspire others through my experiences throughout this journey.

Thank-you for following...

  2. Hi Alexander,

Wow, what an awesome experience you must have had. Well done! I bought myself a R1200GS Adventure a couple months ago and have been dreaming about doing a trip like yours since then, and I think that I may just now have the inspiration. And to think that I stumbled across your blog just yesterday while searching ADVriders for nice bike accessories.

Once you've recovered it would be awesome if you would be able to let us know what your trip cost, what you packed (and how did you keep it dry during your wet crossings), how much planning did you do and where did you get most of your information, essentials, and what laptop did you use to blog?

Keeping a blog during the trip was such a great idea, your words convey your emotions and experiences very well at each post.

I'm in South Africa, and am definitely going to be planning some shorter rides soon and a decent long adventure in the next year or two. I would absolutely love to do Mexico on a bike though, I've already taken Spanish classes!

Cheers mate, and again, well done on a safe adventure, completed!

    Clive.
